Injury Results in $50,000 Fine for Kitchener Company

A Kitchener Company was fined $50,000 after worker was critically injured while installing a printing plate on a printing machine. The court also imposed a 25-per-cent victim fine surcharge as required by the Provincial Offences Act.

Section 25(2)(a) of the Occupational Heath and Safety Act states that employers must ensure that workers receive adequate information, instruction and supervision to protect the worker.
